Wild Blueberry Weekend at Local Cherryfield Farms

Wild Blueberry Weekend is a statewide celebration where Maine’s wild blueberry farms open their doors to the public for a weekend of fun, food, and learning. In Cherryfield, known as the ‘Wild Blueberry Capital of the World,’ visitors can tour farms like Blue Barrens Farm (11 High Street) for blueberry processing tours, complimentary pie/coffee, and possibly tastings from their distillery, and Burke Hill Farm (520 Blackswoods Rd) for organic farm tours and harvesting demonstrations. Fresh and frozen berries, pies, and other blueberry products are typically available for purchase. This event offers a wonderful opportunity to experience Maine’s iconic wild blueberry harvest firsthand and meet the farmers who grow this special fruit.
