Welcome to the Milky Way (Schoodic Institute – Session 1)

Amateur astronomy Richard Luecke will explain our current understanding of the Milky Way. Indoor presentation from 7:30pm – 8:30pm on Thursday, August 21st. Weather permitting, attendees invited outdoors for a laser-guided tour of Maine's night sky and viewing of star clusters, nebulae through a large astronomical telescope (8:30 – 10:00pm). GHS Program: Corea in the 1940’s: The “LOBSTERTOWN” film

A screening of the classic documentary film “LOBSTERTOWN,” which captures village life and the people of Corea in the late 1940s. Commentary will be provided by Nick Woodward, MPBN and a Corea resident, and by locals who recognize the individuals and places depicted in the film.

2025 Painting Retreat in Acadia with Philip Frey

Sunrise Trail Coalition Ride in and Picnic (Cherryfield)

An annual picnic hosted by the Sunrise Trail Coalition where participants can ride, pedal, or walk on the Sunrise Trail to Cable Pool Park in Cherryfield.
