Culinary Landscapes, Book Discussion and Signing with Jane Crosen

Penobscot artist Jane Crosen will discuss and sign her new book which explores international flavors, comfort dishes, colorful salads and small-plate creations, holiday and breakfast specials, and luscious desserts made with local natural ingredients. The cookbook’s 350 recipes and variations are accompanied by 92 color photos and 50 line-art illustrations, along with 42 sidebars and a sprinkling of whimsical poems inspired by cooking at home and at camp. The cover, featuring a quilted “landscape” placemat in jewel colors invites readers into a world of delicious discoveries in a mapmaker’s kitchen. With a laminated cover, lay-flat binding, and 274 pages, it’s a quality softcover book printed and bound locally here in Maine on smooth natural-white paper. A labor of love, Jane’s book is a fun creative project, and we are excited about helping her launch her cookbook and share its stories, tips, and favorite recipes.
